About the Department


The Department of Statistics was established in 2018.(Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Course of the Department of Statistics is an exciting space to engage with the quantitative aspects of the social, biological sciences. Focusing on the increasing role of Statistics in diverse areas and its indispensability in marketing, finance and strategy-making, students are trained to acquire tools in the areas of applied statistical methods analysis.

They engage with sample surveys, econometrics, biostatistics and operations research. In this course, students are taught rigorous methods, tool and techniques to shift through a maze of data and comment on it in an informed manner. The emphasis of the teaching – learning process is on relating statistical concepts to real world ideas that are familiar to the students.

To Produce Committed, Competent efficient and Professionally capable in the fields of Statistics such as product testing Sampling Survey.

Clinical trials in Medicine, Nursing, Biostatistics, Environmental studies, Consulting, Econometrics, Information technologies, Education, Social Sciences and Engineering for Research and Extension

MISSION

To device and develop statistical probabilistic theories and techniques, and to disseminate statistical knowledge through teaching, advising and outreach programs in order to serve the needs of the University, local, state and National bodies in research, Government, Business and Industry
