Artificial Intelligence in Employee’s Recruitment process Dr.Srinivasan K, Dr.G. Shoba & Dr. D. Vetrivelan In Wisdom India Publication Bangalore, Vaniyambadi , Aug 2023.
Abstract [+]
Attracting and recruiting talent is one of the main concerns for companies that are competing for talent in the global market. But with each open posts attracting thousands of applications, it has become challenging for HR managers to sort through all the applications and select the right candidates. About 52% of the recruitment and talent acquisition specialists find screening candidates from the application pool the hardest part of the recruitment process. But if we can automate the screening step or even other repetitive tasks in the hiring process, recruitment can become more efficient and effective. This is where artificial intelligence (AI) in recruitment and HR management comes into the picture, offering recruiters opportunities to disengage from repetitive screening tasks and focus on recruiting the best candidates. AI is helping companies find the correct talent by analysing resumes and matching them with job descriptions. Also HR professionals are expected to minimize costs and time, while at the same time on boarding top talent. Recruitment and searching for the right talent can really be an arduous job, but with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), it’s become increasingly easier. Hence this paper is aimed to highlight the role of AI in employee recruitment. The basic idea of the study is to scrutinise the related literature and find out the features, advantages and limitations/challenges of using AI which would be helpful for recruiters in better understanding of the technology-driven recruitment. |

Implications of Full Range Leadership on Teenagers’ Self-Esteem: The Role of Salesian Institutions in Higher Education J. Anandraj, D. Vetrivelan, J. Berkmans & G. Murugan In Springer , , Oct 2025.
Abstract [+]
The 1.2 billion young people in the world have enormous potential, but they also confront many obstacles, such as unemployment, social instability, and low self-esteem. In order to overcome these obstacles and support young people in becoming self-assured and resilient, leadership in educational institutions is important. This study investigates the effects of full range leadership styles on students’ self-esteem in Salesian higher education institutions. Two important instruments were used to survey a sample of 545 students between the ages of 17 and 25: the Self-Competence/Self-Liking Scale (SLCS) to measure self-esteem and the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) to evaluate leadership styles. Regression models and t-tests were used in the analysis to evaluate the interactions between these variables, with an emphasis on gender differences. The findings indicate that students’ self-esteem is positively impacted by laissez-faire leadership, most likely as a result of autonomy. It’s interesting to note that in this situation, self-esteem was not much impacted by transformational or transactional leadership approaches. Additionally, gender disparities surfaced, with male students reacting more favourably to laissez-faire leadership than female students. These results imply that context and environment have a significant impact on leadership outcomes. While transactional and transformational leadership styles may be more suited to team-oriented or academic objectives, laissez-faire leadership may increase self-esteem by encouraging independence. This study promotes more research on the psychological and cultural elements that affect educational leadership and emphasises the necessity of leadership development programs that strike a balance between autonomy and direction. |

Relative importance of various sources of information for equity investment decisions: A demographic study of Indian Investors Bhatia, M & Nelson M. M. In International Journal of Business Excellence , , Aug 2025, Volume: 36 No. 4, Page: 507.
Abstract [+]
The purpose of this paper is to comprehend the relative importance of various sources of information that different groups of investors rely upon while making investment decisions. The paper puts forth the specific significance of certain sources that might help understand the investor psyche of the various investor groups. Questionnaire-based survey research was conducted and responses of 276 respondents were analysed using descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests. The study reveals that while women investors relied more on advice from family, friends, and stockbrokers; investors who worked within the financial investment sector, preferred personal knowledge of the company and analysis and investors who took greater risks, made higher investments and stayed longer holding their stocks relied more on analytical decision-making based on corporate reports. These findings emphasise the benefits of investor profiling according to the various demographics and how it can help investment advisory firms to approach different investor groups. |

Impact of Organizational and Supervisory Support Perceptions on the Turnover Intentions of Working Mothers-to-Be: A Study of the Indian IT Sector. Agarwal, B. & Nelson, M. M. In International Journal of Business Analytics, , Dec 2023, Volume: 10(1), Page: 1-15.
Abstract [+]
The purpose of the paper is to examine the various factors that influence turnover intentions of working women at the threshold of motherhood. The impact and interrelationships of variables like organisational and supervisory support perceptions, flexible-work-options, work-family conflict, job and family satisfaction, and their effect on turnover intentions are examined. A questionnaire survey of 203 working women of three categories—women undergoing infertility treatment, pregnant women, and new mothers of the Indian IT sector—was conducted and hypotheses tested through structural equation modelling. Results validated the model developed and confirmed the causal relationships whereby employees working in family-supportive work environments experienced lower levels of work-family conflict, and reduced work-family conflict thereby led to greater job and family satisfaction followed by lesser turnover intentions. The study reiterates the need for organisations to offer specific policies that allow working-women to continue their careers as they go through motherhood. |

The Rigmarole of Negotiating Double Binds: A Qualitative Study of Indian Women Academics’ Work-from-home Routines in COVID-19 Times. Nelson, M. M., & Agarwal, B. In South Asian Journal of Business and Management Cases, , Nov 2023, Volume: 12(3), Page: 372-389.
Abstract [+]
This study explores how Indian women academics navigated the responsibilities of home, care and paid academic work during the COVID-19 pandemic through the intersectional lens of gendered family role identity and work–home boundary theory. Using a qualitative interpretivist approach and thematic analysis, 30 women academics were interviewed on their work-from-home experiences. The findings show that women struggled to negotiate the increased work–family conflict due to reinforced gendered family role expectations and increasing invasion of work into home space. The study reveals the double bind whereby women are caught wanting to excel both at work and home. Flexible work options may not help Indian working women to achieve work–family balance due to the continued devaluing of care work and the subservient social status of women within the Indian family structure. Despite educational upliftment and financial independence, gender remains at the bottom of the intersectionality of various types of inequalities that affect Indian women academics. |

Abstract [+]
One of the enduring commonalities amongst the otherwise diverse and varied social frameworks of civilizations across the world and across timeline is the almost similar social status accorded to women in these societies. The treatment meted out to women in various societies over the years is characterized by the systemic discrimination and the subordinate role they play in the family and society at large. This has been the common feature of the social relationship and status that women hold not only across societies but within the social classes of every society including the Indian society. This is an exploratory study based on narrative research that ventures to examine the changing social and economic status of Indian women belonging to the backward classes within the ingrained caste framework that till today defines to a great extent the social and cultural fabric of the Indian society. This work seeks to understand the specific barriers (organizational and otherwise) that Indian women below poverty line face and their attempts to overcome them in their pursuit of economic independence and social upliftment through unconventional jobs. This study ventures to chronicle the familial influences, within the social and cultural milieu and background, their personality traits and their collective impact on their decision to pursue such unconventional jobs successfully. |

Abstract [+]
The overwhelming growth in international business propelled by globalization has encouraged an enormous global mobility of not only workforce but work stations (read MNCs) too than ever before. This migration of people and global organizations does not mean universality in workplace behaviour and management. Rather, the implications of globalization on workforce diversity, therefore workplace behavioural management are profound and direct. This paper attempts to orient the readers to the present scenario of cross-cultural workplace behaviour and management with an Indian perspective and profile the diversity management practices, features, problems and techniques of Multinationals in India and Indian multinationals aboard. |

Quality Improvement in Real Sense or Just a Quick Fix? In Archana Krishan (Eds.), Cases on Quality Initiatives for Organizational Longevity Shanmugam, M. M. & Popli, S. In IGI Global Publisher: Pennsylvania (USA)., , Sep 2018.
Abstract [+]
High quality education has always been an aspiration for an average Indian student and an area where every parent is willing to invest. Quality offered a differentiation opportunity to business schools, and a market opportunity to the numerous ranking, rating, certification, and accreditation bodies. Today there are statutory accreditations (NBA and NAAC), national rankings (Business World, Business Today, IMRB, People Matters), international rankings (FT QS), and international accreditations (SAQS, AACSB, EDUIS, EPAS, ACBSP, AMBA). While all of them claim to be different and serve different missions and objectives, a business school essentially adds it to their portfolio as a feather in the cap. Do these rankings, certifications, and accreditations really make a difference? Do they really improve quality of education? The case study documents a business school and its journey through quality and accreditations. The names and instances have been fictionalized. The case, however, captures the situation, challenges, and opportunities. |

Tremendous growth in international business has shrunk the world into a global village and yet the cultural diversity continues to play a significant role in the corporate world. Employee Engagement Strategies for Hybrid Work Models in Modern Economies B. Sakthimala, Dr. G. Deepalakshmi In Transformative Approaches to Banking, Marketing, and Education in Modern Economies, JVK Publications, ISBN: 978-93-482-5410-8, Jun 2025.
Abstract [+]
Hybrid work model, a blending remote and in office schedules, is changing traditional employees engagement rights of armed forces. The new deep learning insights explore potential ways to keep and enhance employee engagement in the hybrid working environment. Using this, we synthesized the patterns from organisational behaviour data and employee sentiment analysis using a state of the art BERT based model for summarization known as PEGASUS. Power BI also served as visualization and decision support tool for real time data. This finding points out that personalized communication, adaptive leadership, digital well-being initiatives as well as AI driven performance feedback should be the key drivers of engagement. Beyond bridging the physical digital divide, these strategies also promote a resilient, motivated and productive workforce which is oriented to the aspirations of modern systems of economic systems. |

Sustainability in Strategic Management: Analyzing the Triple Bottom Line in Corporate Decision Making B. Sakthimala, Dr. G. Deepalakshmi In Indian Patent, , Dec 2024.
Abstract [+]
The method for the development of the awareness of sustainability has grown in significance for society and among academics and professionals. The three Ps people, planet, and profit are at the center of the triple bottom line (TBL), a sustainability framework. Organizations are more likely to improve their financial performance and make a positive impact on the world if they maximize all three bottom lines. Profit, the environment, and people are the three main focuses of the Triple Bottom Line. It backs up the notion that a business that only pursues profit cannot succeed by disregarding the environment and society. The purpose of this study is to examine the Triple Bottom Line in a theoretical framework related to business sustainability solutions. To gauge how an organization impacts its workers, the local community, and the environment overall, the TBL incorporates more general economic, social and environmental considerations. |
