About the Department
The Department of Interior Design and Decor develops and advances the interior design discipline through excellence in teaching and service. Developing through producing graduates where professional, creative activities contribute to the theory, practical knowledge, technical skills & professional ethics to practice interior design.
The faculty make creative people who enjoy solving problems and able to visualize three-dimensionally. Interior designers and decorators are independent thinkers and innovators. They create inspiring, functional, socially responsible and aesthetic designs for private residential, corporate, public and exhibition spaces by using color, architectural design and decor.
The scope of training opens doors to many career opportunities in the world of interior design and architecture where graduates will work with both the structural and cosmetic aspects of interiors.
Every year students projects to peak out their innovative ideas in interiors. All the occasion’s students use to do the wonderful color schematic stage decoration .Signed MOU with Mahima Beauty academy to placed as a beautician, they also placed as a Interior designer, color consultant.

I am an experienced academic professional with 17 years of teaching and academic experience in the field of Interior Design and Décor. Currently, I serve as the Head of the Department, where I am responsible for academic leadership, curriculum planning, faculty coordination, and student development.
My professional expertise includes delivering theory and practical courses, mentoring students in design thinking and project execution, guiding interior design projects, and integrating industry-oriented practices into academic learning. I have actively contributed to departmental growth through curriculum development, academic planning, and participation in institutional activities.
With a strong commitment to quality education and creative excellence, I continuously strive to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice in interior design.

This book is an essential resource for students studying interior design and architecture, offering a comprehensive understanding of the integral relationship between color and lighting in interior spaces. The topics covered provide both theoretical knowledge and practical insights that are crucial for designing functional, aesthetically pleasing, and energy-efficient environments. By exploring aspects like color theory, lighting fixtures, glare, and lighting reflection, the book equips students with the tools needed to create balanced and visually appealing interiors. The first section of the book introduces Color Theory, explaining the fundamentals of color, including the color wheel, primary and secondary colors, and the concept of color temperature. Understanding color theory helps students make informed decisions when choosing color schemes that will create the right atmosphere in a room. The chapter on Color Harmony expands on this, teaching students how to use color combinations such as complementary, analogous, and triadic schemes to create visual harmony in their designs.
