HOSTEL DISCIPLINE

Responsibility and self-discipline are the only means to success in life and these are necessary for community living. To help the students acquire responsibility and self-discipline and with a view to providing order and harmony in the hostel campus and an atmosphere for hard work and study, the following guidelines are presented.

ATTENDANCE

All the hostel students must be present on the reopening dates after the semesters, other holidays and weekends. Attendance will be taken every day.

RECREATION

The hostel has recreation facilities for indoor games, outdoor games, gym and reading. The maintenance expenditure of the recreation facilities will be divided among the hostel residents and added to their mess charges.

CARE OF HOSTEL PROPERTY

Every resident will be assigned furniture and other accessories. She will be responsible for the safe custody and maintenance of such property and fittings. In case of any damage, breakage will be collected from the students responsible.    

REPORT OF SICKNESS

Any physical indisposition should be reported to the warden. There is a well-equipped health center under the supervision of the medical advisor. Students who fall sick are not allowed to stay in the hostel rooms without Principal Permission.

HOSTEL RULES

  Students in the hostel should attend the prayers daily, both in the morning and evening.   

  Silence should be maintained in the hostel during the appointed hours.

  Costly jewellery should not be worn or kept in the hostel.

  Students are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms.

  Students should not be absent themselves from the classes without submitting leave letter, countersigned by the warden.

  Inmates of the hostel should not allow their friends, visitors or day-students inside the hostel.

  Misconduct or breaking of hostel rules will render the students liable to suspension or dismissal from the hostel.

  Parents and Guardians are requested to ensure the disciplined behaviour of their daughters/wards at all times. The management would not be held responsible for any untoward behaviour of the students including outside the campus.

These rules and regulations are observed in order to develop lofty ideals, values, responsible citizenship and leadership qualities among students. These will also help students to find harmony and happiness by living in the hostel. Hence, students, parents and faculty members are requested to kindly co-operate to strictly observe these rules and regulations.

LEAVING THE PREMISES

Going home is permitted every week and students must return to the hostel on the following working days by 9.00 a.m. No student will be permitted to go out unless accompanied by the parent or guardian and a letter written by the parent directly addressed to the warden. Permission can be obtained from the Warden on the days specified. 

VISITORS

At the time of the admission each student will be given one parents card signed by the parent, and the warden. Only the specified card holder will be permitted to visit the residents. Visitors and day scholars are not permitted entering the hostel premises.

Visitors are allowed only between 4.00 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. on working days. On Sundays and holidays, Other than study holidays, visitors are permitted between 10.00 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. All the visitors must leave by 5.30 p.m.

ARTICLES TO BE BROUGHT

Residents are expected to bring with them the blankets, locks, buckets, stainless steel plates and tumblers.
