The Department of Psychology circulates notice regarding the functioning of Counseling Cell in the beginning of every academic year. The students visit cell on their own or on the referral of other teachers. The faculties of Department of Psychology counsel students for the academic, personal and family issues, psychological trainees and other mental and behavioral health providers. In the beginning of every academic year, counseling cell releases a notice informing about the cell and appeals students to visit cell for personal and academic concerns. The teacher of Psychology obtains thorough information of students’ issues, family background and related information to prepare detail case report. Psychological tests are conducted if necessary. Parents are asked to visit the cell if required. The concerned teacher keeps the information confidential as confidentiality is the basic norm of counseling. Students are allowed to offer counseling on a double blinded method which give them an experience of an unbiased and a realistic counseling environment. All these services are unrestricted and free.

The department organizes several webinars/seminars and workshop for the students on recent methods in psychological activities targeting clients in different age groups.

We also offer In-plant training and Internships during which the students gain a practical experience of interacting with clients in-person and also have the opportunity to counsel them.

 Certificate courses are provided in addition to their regular curriculum which enrich their knowledge and aids in keeping them with updated with the existing standard of psychological applications.

 Students are motivated to undertake research based activities from reviewing research articles to framing research objectives which gives them guidance for setting a research based career in the field of psychology .
