FACILITIES IN PSYCHOLOGY Department

The Department maintains the lab that is available for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in Psychology. A counseling class is maintained by the Department and has adequate capabilities for the study of counseling processes and outcomes. This consulting room is free to Institution, community individuals and provides various types of vocational and psychological counseling.

PROJECTOR CLASSROOM

Audio/Video sessions are provided for the students using projectors that enable students to experience practical demonstration of live examples. It also allows for an interactive and in-depth understanding of the concepts. It also allows the students to show more involvement in their studies and be able to do subject related activities that benefit in building their career.

Aruna, Ayesha Sabeen M In Tuijin Jishu/Journal of Propulsion Technology, Tamil Nadu, India, Dec 2023, Volume: 44 (6), Page: 4536 - 4546. Abstract [+] Wounds are inevitable in life; the rapid healing process can reduce the costs of therapy and hospitalization, but the ideal availability of the drugs for wound healing therapy is limited due to the complex nature of the skin tissue. The novel medicines for wound healing and skin regeneration, herbal-based therapeutic agents, can be alternative medications. Recently, biologically active scaffolds have been widely used for wound healing therapy. These scaffolds are extracellular matrices and can induce tissue regeneration. Here, we present a review of several scaffolds by combining biological polymers with the extracts obtained from various plants. It should be noted that chemical and synthetic agents, which are known to be harmful to the environment and human health, were prepared with completely environment-friendly herbal extracts with biological polymers, which are frequently used in the biomedical field. Plant-based scaffolds augment wound healing and provide better tissue regeneration with minimal negative effects on the skin. Scaffolds can be prepared by choosing proper polymer and extract types, which are combined to get unique properties of scaffolds that lead to an innovative and eco-friendly approach in wound treatment applications. [2]	COMPREHENSIVE RESEARCH ON BIODEGRADABLE FILMS AND COMPOSITE COATING Ayesha Sabeen M, Shridhar Bagali, M Manivannan, Sajith S, N Bhuvana, M I Niyas Ahamed In Catalyst Research - China Petroleum Processing and Petrochemical Technology, Tamil Nadu, India, Oct 2023, Volume: 23 (2), Page: 2540 - 2555. Abstract [+] Biodegradable polymeric material is being investigated as a carrier for many therapeutic uses by scientists all over the world. Biodegradable polymeric materials have come a long way in the past two decades, particularly in the biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors due to their adaptability, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. This review focuses on the use of biodegradable polymers for functional enteric coatings, which protect the contents of a dosage form from the stomach's acidic and enzymatic environments. Polymeric polymers are used to manage the prolonged release and gradual dissolution in the GI tract of oral dose tablets. When a tablet is said to have a "enteric coating" (e/c), it signifies that it has been given a special coating to prevent it from breaking up in the stomach. The stomach is acidic, while the intestines, where food travels after being digested, are alkaline. The medicine is released in the colon because the coating is stable in acidic circumstances but dissolves in alkaline ones. Malleswara Rao In Journal of Data Acquisition and Processing , Tamil Nadu, India, Aug 2023, Volume: 38 (3), Page: 6482 - 6493. Abstract [+] Environment mapping, mineral exploration, agriculture, forestry, geology, water, ocean, infrastructure planning and management, disaster mitigation and management, etc. all benefit greatly from the use of remote sensing and geographic information systems. Remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) have been more important over the past few decades as means of gathering data on nearly every facet of the planet. There has been a proliferation of uses for satellite data with high spatial and spectral resolution in recent years. Over the past four decades, remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) have made substantial contributions to India's development efforts. In this work, we look at how remote sensing and GIS can be used to address a variety of environmental concerns, including those related to mining, cities, the ocean, and landfills. [4]	COMPLETE REVISION ON GREEN SYNTHESIZED COPPER NANOPARTICLES N. Vasugi, B.Prabhavathi, C.Ramathilagam, Vinayaka K S, Ayesha Sabeen M, M I Niyas Ahamed In Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology, Head, and Neck Surgery, Tamil Nadu, India, Jun 2023, Volume: 27 (1), Page: 5888 - 5896. Abstract [+] A new area of nanotechnology study is the green synthesis of nanoparticles (NPs). Antimicrobial and disinfectant activities can be found in copper nanoparticles. Environmentally friendly synthetic NPs are very effective in recycling and removing heavy metals from sewage. They could address several global problems with water quality. Nanomaterials produced by plants are cost-effective, environmentally benign, and nonpathogenic. The plant extract already contains the biomolecules needed for the metal ions to be reduced and stabilized. Within 10 minutes, silver nanoparticles could be created and showed antibacterial efficacy against bacteria. Copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) made by green synthesis are employed as nano-adsorbents to remove Ibu, Nab, and Dic from waste water samples. The optimal adsorption conditions were 298 K, pH 4.5, 60 min, and an endothermic adsorption process. A high bacterium decreases of log 8.8 for E. coli was seen in paper sheets with a greater copper concentration. The CuNP paper filter has the potential to be a very affordable method of water filtration.
