OBJECTIVES OF DBT STAR COLLEGE SCHEME

  • To strengthen academic and physical infrastructure in order to achieve excellence in teaching, learning, and scientific training.
  • To enhance the quality of the teaching–learning process by promoting innovative thinking through hands-on experimental exposure and participation in summer schools and skill-based programmes.
  • To augment core instrumentation facilities through the procurement of advanced equipment and the modernization of existing laboratory infrastructure.
  • To organize specialized training programmes and faculty development initiatives aimed at improving technical knowledge and professional competencies of teachers.
  • To promote academic networking and foster collaborative relationships with neighbouring institutions, research laboratories, and scientific organizations.
  • To provide students with greater exposure to research laboratories, industries, and advanced scientific environments across the country.
  • To support the development of standardized curricula, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and practical training kits for effective laboratory instruction.
  • To strengthen library resources and improve access to quality learning materials for both students and faculty members.

  • To strengthen the existing curriculum by enriching practical courses with innovative, application-oriented experiments and skill-based training in the respective disciplines.
  • To promote interdisciplinary learning by creating strong connectivity among subjects and enhancing students’ integrated understanding across various scientific domains.
  • To implement interdisciplinary learning experiences that enable students to understand the applications of science and technology and explore diverse career opportunities in multiple scientific fields.
  • To empower faculty members through virtual learning platforms and advanced training programmes that emphasize effective, integrated, interdisciplinary, and applied approaches in teaching.
  • To enhance the technical competencies of laboratory staff, enabling their active participation in problem-solving activities, while also improving laboratory management systems and ensuring the proper maintenance and functioning of laboratory facilities.
  • To provide advanced subject knowledge and academic support to teachers of Government schools in rural areas, thereby helping them address educational and societal challenges for the overall development of the region.
