Citizen Consumer Club was established in our College during the year 2009. The objective of Citizen Consumer Club is to educate the students about the rights of Consumers as stated in Consumer Protection Act, 1986. The club disseminates information gained through citizen consumer club among their fellow students as well as among the people living in their respective locality to organize and actively participate in consumer protection programmes organized in college as well as in the locality to observe National Consumer Day and World Consumer Rights day. Our College CCC is conducting various programmes relating to consumer rights, awareness and responsibilities for the benefit of the students. Our consumer club also conducts various competitions for students such as essay writing, poetry and drawing competitions.

OBJECTIVES

• To create awareness on consumer rights and duties.
• To advise individual consumers and protect their rights.
• To promote sustainable consumption.
• To help consumers get justice when affected.
• To sensitize manufacturers, service providers on consumer rights and quality.
• To work with the existing laws in order to protect consumer’s interest and general health.
• To encourage the involvement of society and citizens (consumers) in the consideration, standardization and basic provision of their rights.
• To spread awareness on consumer rights amongst all consumer segments.
• To ensure prices of goods are fair and appropriate with relevance to its quality and value.
• To identify and weed out unfair trade practices in delivery of goods as well as services.
• To continuously assess policy changes required in each sector and create awareness among consumers on taxation policies.

To create awareness on consumer rights and organize events and competitions that truly reflect the motto “Aware, Alert, Act” to build an enlightened  citizen has the foundation of future India.

To create awareness about the role of consumers among students at a very young age and through them to the general public.
